End of the year Signed Giveaway! 4 signed books + 5 non signed books!

I love end of the year posts with lists of favorite books and all of that – so I will be doing one of those next week because I just can’t resist! But this post is not that. Earlier this year I was lucky enough to go to Chicago and go to an incredibly fun book event at a Library with a bunch of really amazing authors. I went specifically because Amy Jo Cousins, Julie James, and Sonali Dev were going to be there and those are three authors I adore. But I was really thrilled to get to see Lori Handeland, Kate Meader,  Julie Ann Walker and more. They had fun panels and overall it was a great day for me since there are not these kinds of things near me in Ohio. The best part about it was getting to talk to the authors one on one. All 3 authors I went to see were incredibly nice and willing to talk to me more than just for about 5 seconds which is how the previous signings I’d gone to had been.

These are the pictures from that day – from L to R – Amy Jo Cousins, Julie James, Sonali Dev. (And yes I’m wearing a shirt about dragons because I’m a big nerd!) Don’t they all just look ridiculously friendly?

Blog Tour & Review: The King by Tiffany Reisz

The King Cover UK

Book Synopsis:

Cunning. Sex. Pure nerve. Only this potent threesome can raise him to his rightful place as ruler of Manhattan’s kink kingdom.

Bouncing from bed to bed on the Upper East Side—handsomely paid in both bills and blackmail fodder—Kingsley Edge is brilliant, beautiful and utterly debauched. No carnal act or chemical compound can relieve his self-destructive apathy—only Søren, the one person he loves without limit or regret. A man he can never have, but in whose hands Kingsley is reborn to attain even greater heights of sin. He plans to open the ultimate BDSM club: a dungeon playground for New York’s A-list that’ll change the scene forever.

Book Review:

I was unclear what to expect from this Kingsley story because in my mind we already know his story. We’ve already read about his love story with Soren when they were both at school. We’ve already read about his loyalty to those that he considers “his” and what he will do to protect them. But I’ve loved mostly everything Tiffany Reisz has written so of course I wanted to read it. I was just really hoping for more than a story we’ve already heard just told from another point of view (because I’m really not a fan of that!).

So I was so happy to be completely wrong and have a whole new story here. This might be one of my favorites out of all of the books so far. We get to see the beginning of everything from Kingsley’s perspective. The story begins in present tense and the majority of it is set when Kingsley was just a strip club owner and not the BDSM club owner extraordinaire. Most of the story is before Nora was around or at least before King met her which is a big difference and one I wasn’t expecting, but I adjusted quickly. Soren and King are reunited after a time apart. For me Soren was the biggest adjustment I needed to make – he was much more light-hearted than I’m used to seeing him. I really liked seeing him in that way, joking around with Kingsley. It made me like Soren more than usual too.

“You know I have to have more sexy to make up for all the sex you aren’t having. Someone has to restore the balance in the universe.”
“The universe thanks you for your sacrifice.”

There were also new characters to get to know with the main one being Sam. I was fascinated with her relationship with Kingsley. It was more emotional than I was expecting and I enjoyed getting to see this fresh relationship and what it did to King.

I loved this book and can’t wait to see more in this series!

Giveaway: Signed copy of Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

15745753 When I went to the Rainbow Rowell and David Levithan signing last week I was so excited to get a hardback copy of both Fangirl and Eleanor and Park signed by Rainbow. She was very personable and funny at the signing. The reading she did with David from Fangirl was the highlight of the night for me, it was hilarious. I wanted to share the wealth and do a giveaway of the copy of Eleanor and Park that I got.

If you haven’t read this book already you need to make it the next book you read! It was a 5 star book from me and was the second Rainbow Rowell book I read. It kind of cemented my love for her writing. It’s a Young Adult love story but it definitely has appealed to people who normally don’t like that genre.

So if you want to win this signed book, just comment on this blog post by this Thursday 3/27 by 5 PM EST. US Entries only please.

Giveaway: Signed Copy of Every Day by David Levithan

13262783 I was lucky enough to go to a book signing and reading this past weekend with David Levithan and Rainbow Rowell. I was able to pick up an extra paperback copy of Every Day by David Levithan and got it signed to give away here! David did readings from his newest book – Two Boys Kissing, and was very funny and personable. He was also really nice in person.

I really loved this book, it was so moving and unique. A wakes up every day in a different body, never knowing where they will end up. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it. And here’s your chance to win it!

To enter just comment on this blog entry by Wed. 5 PM EST and I’ll pick a winner via RNG at that time. Good luck!
